Google has released a material designed page, “about me from Google,” for editing all of your personal information across its array of services. Make sure you log in to your Google Account then go to then link provided and you can see a new dashboard for updating and controlling your information, what’s private and public as well as including contact information, photos, and much more.
Google’s Material Design is a set of standards developed by Google in 2014. Expanding upon the “card” motifs that debuted in Google Now, Material Design creates a more open use of standards grid-based layouts, responsive icons, animations and transitions, padding, and effects such as lighting and shadows.
Almost everything Google does now is set from Google’s Material Design doctrine. I think it looks great and it simplifies everything as a standard not only for their developers but others.
So when designing your new website or App, look to this document and work from there, it sets a standard so that everything not only looks good but performs well across multiple platforms.
